About LYAO

At this point, LYAO is a subweb of my main website, Orange Frog Productions (OFP) (www.orangefrogproductions.com), and can be reached at http://lyao.orangefrogproductions.com. It is automatically forwarded to here from www.lyao-online.com, my old LYAO domain name.

It is not a "database of jokes", as LYAO-Online was originally envisioned and started a few years ago, but a collection and re-working of LYAO "joke-letters". There are also sections for LYAO Pictures, Audio, and I see the need for other sections, like Office Documents (you know... those items people print off and hang on their cubicle walls) and possibly some others.

I am starting at the beginning (1998) and working forward. When I get to the current LYAO - that may take some time ... there are over 400 of them in my "archives" - I will start posting new LYAOs there, and send the link, rather than sending a whole 10+ pages. This should also help alleviate:

those times when LYAOs putting some inboxes "over quota" (hasn't happened recently, but...)

those times when I don't change certain words and office or home email filters "trap them out" (disallow delivery)

formatting problems for those people who don't get LYAOs as "pretty" as I make them. (I send these out formatted in HTML and understand that some email clients will strip all that formatting from them, making some of the items much more difficult to read.)

You'll also be able to print them in black and white (except for the banner). I have set up a Print CSS to change all colors to black and white, and "ignore" the background and sidebar so they don't print. Look at the Print Preview (or print it out) and see what I mean.

Oh, yeah! I'm continually adding items to my Rumors and Fraud and Phishing pages in the Scams, Shams and FlimFlams section on OFP. Be sure to visit there often! ;-)

TO THOSE WHO ARE RECEIVING LYAO (OR LOOKING AT LYAO-ONLINE) FOR THE FIRST OR CLOSE TO THE FIRST TIME, AND TO THOSE THAT DON’T REMEMBER:

LYAO (LAFF YOUR A-- OFF) IS A SEMI-REGULAR JOKE/LIST/STORY LETTER I SEND TO A NUMBER OF FRIENDS, FAMILY, AND FRIENDS OF FRIENDS AND FAMILY [and anyone else who would like to receive it].

THE JOKES AND STORIES RANGE FROM "G" TO "X", WITH "G" THROUGH "PG-15" AND “R” OR SO BEING CONSIDERED AS "NORMAL", AND "X", TRULY GROSS, OR OTHERS USUALLY UNDER DISCLAIMERS. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE "RATINGS" ARE MY OWN SUBJECTIVE AND LIBERAL ANALYSIS. HOWEVER, SINCE I SEND LYAO TO FAMILY MEMBERS WHO HAVE YOUNG TO TEENAGE KIDS AT HOME, I'M USUALLY FAIRLY CAREFUL. (THE "DESCRIPTIVE ADULT-ORIENTED" JOKES ARE THE ONES I USUALLY WORRY MOST ABOUT.)

IN ALL CASES WHERE LYAO IS SENT TO A HOME WITH CHILDREN, PARENTS SHOULD READ IT BEFORE THEIR KIDS, AND PASS THEIR OWN JUDGMENTS ON WHICH JOKES OR STORIES ARE APPROPRIATE FOR THEM.

PLEASE NOTE THAT "POLITICAL CORRECTNESS" IS NOT ONE OF MY CRITERIA. I ALSO DO NOT EDIT ALL "SWEAR WORDS". MOST OF THE TIME I WILL DO SO ONLY TO THE "F-WORD" (F-CK or F*CK).

Because of the advent of filters and firewalls, I do tend to edit most "swear words" now by blocking out certain letters. You can still tell what they are! BUT, please be aware that some of the older LYAOs will probably still have those words in them! -LYAO Editor]

I refuse to use (or I change) any blatantly racial and religious slur-type jokes, or ones that use offensive terms for a race or religion (both of which I would describe as "malicious"), but include almost all others, sexy, gross, good, bad, indifferent, etc. Most descriptive sex jokes are under a CMA warning (Cover my a--), and usually appear at the bottom of the e-mail. There are a few other "alerts", but most of them, except the "urban legend" and "inspirational story" alerts, don't appear all that often. Once in a while, I will send out LYAO Pix (with warnings) -- which may or may not include "nekididity" (naked-idity) -- and "specials", such as urgent (REAL) virus warnings.]

I EDIT THE JOKES FOR GRAMMAR AND SPELLING AND USUALLY SEND AROUND 10 PAGES OR SO PER LETTER, NOT INCLUDING MY COMMENTS AND WARNINGS. SOMETIMES I GET LESS AND SOMETIMES MORE. USUALLY, I TRY TO KEEP THE NUMBER SENT TO ONE (1) PER WEEK, AND NO MORE THAN THREE (3) PER WEEK, IF THAT MANY, BUT, ONCE IN A WHILE, I SEND TWO (2) OUT ON THE SAME DAY. [NOTE: Lately (early 2006), I've been trying to keep it limited to once-a-week and on Thursday Night/Friday Morning so you have the weekend to peruse it. -LYAO Editor]

IF YOU GET E-MAILS WITH JOKES, FUN/INTERESTING LISTS, OR "NICE" STORIES, or links to the same, SEND THEM TO . IF I HAVEN'T ALREADY INCLUDED THEM IN A RECENT LYAO, AND THEY FIT MY “STRINGENT” [ALMOST NON-EXISTENT!] CRITERIA, I WILL PUT THEM IN AN LYAO AS SOON AS I CAN.
